Do you know what is an inverter?
Inverters convert direct current (DC) energy generated by your solar panels into usable alternating current (AC) energy, essential equipment for solar powering.
In other words, solar inverters converts DC (direct current) into AC (Alternating current). The inverter’s role in your system is to convert DC to AC so can be used to power your appliances
Micros or power optimizers?
Microinverters and power optimizer systems have very similar efficiencies, are good for monitoring individual panel performance, and can help maximize energy production on slightly shaded or complicated roofs. But your preferences will ultimately determine which option is best for your home.
Microinverters and power optimizers are newer (but not new!) technologies and have been increasing in popularity over the last decade, especially in the residential market.
Microinverter:
PROS:
- Each panel is esentially a single electrical system.
- Panels can be built in any configuration or orientation.
- Smart small and your system as needed.
CONS:
- Most expensive option on a cost per watt basis.
- For a larger scale system they are not as affordable.
Power Optimizer:
PROS:
- Offers more flexibility than a micro-inverter system.
- Optimizers ensure you Will recieve the most production out of each panel.
- Individual panel monitoring helps identify defects or shading issues.
CONS:
- It depends just in one inverter for the whole system.
